Mapping the uptake of the Spanish and Austrian citizenship offers

Data and sources:

Spain: numbers of individual applications received, and citizenships inscribed on the basis of Additional Disposition 8 of the Democratic Memory Law (20/2022), between October 2022 and February 2025, according to official figures published in El País on 28 February 2025.

Austria: numbers of individual applications received, and positive decisions issued on the basis of Art. 58c of the Citizenship Act, between January 2021 and December 2024, according to official figures provided by the City of Vienna’s Immigration and Citizenship department (MA 35).
